 Agra is the destination that has been counted among the Seven Wonders of the World. The city was the Mughal capital of India in 1526 and was founded by Emperor Babur on the banks of the Yamuna River. Taj Mahal

Described as one of the most extravagant monuments built with love, the Taj Mahal is the symbol of India. The Taj Mahal was built by Emperor Shah Jahan to commemorate his second wife Mumtaz, who died in 1631 while she was giving birth to her fourteenth child. It has also been declared a World Heritage Site.

 

Agra Fort

Agra Fort was built of red sandstone on the banks of the Yamuna River and was erected by Emperor Akbar in 1565. The fort was expressly built by his grandson Shah Jahan using his favorite building material, white marble.

 

Akbar Mausoleum

It is an extraordinary tomb of the greatest Mughal emperor, Akbar, made of red sandstone and white marble. The grave is in the center of the garden, where deer graze, monkeys play in the trees, and even peacocks and parakeets make their presence felt.

 

Fatehpur Sikri

This Fatehpur Sikri site is located 40 kilometers west of Agra, which was the short-lived capital of the Mughal Empire between 1571 and 1585 during Akbar's reign. It has been listed as a world heritage site and must be visited as the Agra tour.

 

Fort Sikandara

Sikandara Fort was built by Akbar to carry out his projects such as art, literature, religion, architecture and the arts. The fort is located in the western part of the city, 10 kilometers from the city center. It was built in red sandstone and is beautifully carved, reflecting the personality of the great Emperor Akbar.

By plane:

Agra buses connect the main cities of the state and its surroundings. Important road distances from Agra are Delhi - 240 km, Bharatpur - 57 km, Lucknow - 369 km, Mathura - 54 km, Nainital - 353 km, Varanasi - 605 km, Khajuraho - 400 km.
